Under the visionary leadership of Bro. V. K George SG, the Montfort Teacher Training College for Special Education, was established with the noble aim of preparing Special Educators. At a time when awareness and resources for special education were limited in the region, the college committed itself to serving as a beacon of hope for many children and families. The institution was officially inaugurated by the late P. A. Sangma, then the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. His gracious presence signified a significant milestone in the college's history.

Their presence added grandeur to the occasion, making it a truly memorable event to cherish for a long time.

After the Holy Mass, the jubilee celebration continued with honouring the guests for their unwavering dedication and significant contributions to the Training Centre over the years. Mementoes were presented to key contributors to the Institution’s growth, followed by speeches, cultural displays, and expressions of gratitude, all carried out with grace and enthusiasm. A particularly memorable moment was the VI students' moving performance of “I Have a Dream, " which deeply touched the Honourable Chief Minister.

A significant highlight of the Silver Jubilee was the participation of alumni from different batches, who came bearing gifts for their beloved Alma Mater. Their contributions reflected their gratitude, cherished memories, and the enduring connection they maintain with the institution that shaped their lives and careers.

The celebration concluded with a warm banquet where the priest, Religious dignitaries, guests, alumni, students, and staff united in joy and gratitude.
